Thermal Management Research Intern
Huawei Technologies is a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices. Device Concept Lab, at the Huawei Finland Research Center is seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student intern to join our dynamic thermal management research group. We are looking for an individual passionate about pushing the boundaries of thermal design and materials in consumer electronics.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of innovation, contributing to the development of groundbreaking thermal solutions that will shape the future of our devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead research and development of cutting-edge thermal management technologies: This includes exploring and implementing innovative solutions like advanced coatings, phase change materials, MOF and COF.
- Conduct rigorous testing and analysis: You will be responsible for characterizing the thermal performance of materials and devices, analyzing data, and drawing meaningful conclusions.
- Collaborate with a team of experts: Work closely with team of engineers and scientists to design material / composite for specific application. The phase change material, liquid metal composition optimization, metal organic framework, etc. are under the interests.
- Explore new frontiers: Investigate the application of surface chemistry and thin film deposition processes for thermal management.
- Embrace emerging technologies: Explore the exciting potential of electrowetting technology for thermal solutions, contributing to the development of novel and efficient thermal management systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a PhD degree: Must be currently enrolled in a PhD program in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundation in thermal design and management: Demonstrated expertise in thermal principles, heat transfer mechanisms, and proven experience in designing and optimizing thermal systems.
- Expertise in materials science: Deep understanding of surface chemistry, thin film deposition techniques, and the properties and applications of phase change materials.
- Experience with thermal simulation and material design: While not mandatory, proficiency in using thermal simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) and experience in designing and analyzing materials for thermal applications.
- Familiarity with electrowetting technology: Prior experience or knowledge of electrowetting technology is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to identify problems, analyze data, and develop innovative solutions.
- Strong communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information both verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.
