Biosensing intern
Helsinki Sports Science Laboratory is looking a Biosensing intern to join us to participate in technology proof of concept study. Work content is to plan, perfom and report an in-vivo study of novel biosensing technique. Target is to research the opportunity to implement the new feature and novel biosensor in future commercial wearable devices.
Main Tasks:
- Plan and execute data collection for biosensing experiments
- Design and develop algorithms for measuring biomarkers using non-invasive optical sensors
- Process and analyze biosensor data using machine learning and other techniques
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate biosensing capabilities into consumer wearable devices
Requirements:
- PhD student in Biophotonics, Biomedical Engineering or other strongly related majors.
- Experience in Biosignal data processing and data collection with human subjects, data analysis, visualization and reporting.
- Deep understanding on human physiology and biomarker detection with optical sensors (e.g. lactate, hydration, metabolism rate).
- Good understanding of optical biosensor techniques [such as Photoplethysmography (PPG) and Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS)].
- Ability to independently execute projects, design and conduct data collection, analyze the data and report findings in a scientific manner.
- Ability to work systematically and produce a comprehensive report of the results within the given time frame.
- Strong team working skills, innovative mindset and a positive attitude.
- Good communication skills in written and spoken English.
Contract period and starting date: The position is a full-time intern position. We expect the internship start in the beginning of March 2025. Welcome to submit your application by 20th Feb. 2025.
