Thermal Intern, Phase Change Material (PCM) and Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) Development

As a Phase Change Material (PCM) and Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) Development Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to work within the Device Concept Lab and contribute to the advancement of electronic cooling technologies. Your research and development efforts in PCM and MOF materials will play a crucial role in driving innovation and shaping the future of electronic devices. You will primarily contribute to the development of new PCM materials aimed at improving the performance of existing materials, including latent heat, thermal conductivity, and density. Additionally, you will be involved in the development processes of Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and development activities to investigate and develop new PCM and MOF materials.
- Utilize molecular dynamics (MD) simulation techniques to model and suggest molecular structures for PCM and MOF materials.
- Collaborate with the research team to design experiments and conduct material characterization using various analytical techniques.
- Contribute to the encapsulation of PCM materials and evaluate their performance.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and contribute to the formulation of technical reports and presentations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in PCM, MOF, and related technologies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge and experience in MD simulation techniques for molecular structure modeling.
- Familiarity with phase change materials and their applications.
- Proficiency in material characterization methods, such as spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and microscopy.
- Experience with encapsulation techniques for PCM and MOF materials is desirable.
- Knowledge of heat and mass transfer principles will be considered advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Internship Period: 4-6 months, starting as soon as possible
