About Huawei Finland R&D
With 28 sites across Europe and over 2000 researchers, Huawei’s European Research Institute (ERI) oversees fundamental and applied technology research, academic research cooperation projects, and strategic technical planning across our network of European R&D facilities. Huawei Finland Research Center was established in 2012. We are looking for a Technology Cooperation Manager to join our team. In this position, you will work alongside our research center president, line managers and European level cooperation managers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Be in charge of relationship development and retention with renowned universities, research institutes, academic groups and enterprises in Baltic region, build up in-depth interaction mechanism and implement to ensure sustainable collaboration.
- Build and maintain the resource map of Baltic region, identify the advantages and promote successful cooperation
- Collaborate with other country cooperation manager to build up resource map and advantages for the various business domains
- Seek cooperation opportunities, and work with teams to develop proposals for research projects.
- Keep pace with the cutting-edge ICT technologies’ status and trends of leading universities, research institutes, companies and start-ups.
- Actively communicate with our potential cooperation partners and contribute to our technology strategy, our long-term goals and address partner pain points, concerns, and objectives.
Qualification and Detailed Requirements:
- Master degree in Computer Science/Physics/Electrical/Telecom Engineering or related filed; a PhD would be a plus.
- More than 10 years of working experience, preferably in technology management, strategy development in previous work.
- Know well research resources, startups, technical companies in Baltic region, well connected to the network relevant to the above with good reputation.
- Extensive knowledge and in-depth understanding of cutting-edge ICT technologies.
- Ability to interact with all levels within the company and represent the company professionally.
- Independent, well-organized and structured working style with a hands-on and can-do attitude. Critical thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, team spirit and independent working capability. Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Broad vision, strong business understanding, strong learning ability, rich experience in communicating with professors, scientific researchers, and enterprises.
- Past experience in project management, research cooperation, technology transfer, IPR and business negotiation (in industry or academia) will be considered as a plus.
- Familiar with local culture and have good cross-cultural communication skills.
- Fluency in Finnish and English
- The willingness and ability to travel frequently in the region or outside the EU, if required.
Start Date: We prefer if the candidate could start at the beginning of year 2025.
